Q & A With Notre Dame's Matt Kavanagh

By: Adrenaline
As most of you already know from our past blog, the Tropics had a blast on and off the field at the 2014 Vail Lacrosse Shootout. After the weekend ended, we thought it would be a great time to catch up with Notre Dame star and one of the newest members of the Tropics squad, Matt Kavanagh. We decided to pick his brain a bit and see what he thought about his first #TropsNation experience... Here is what he had to say:

Q: This was obviously your first time playing tropics, what did you think about the event and the squad we put together?

MK:  It was my first time playing with the tropics and also my first time playing out in Vail, Colorado.  It was a great weekend, especially meeting some of the best players from schools all over the country.  The whole team was awesome and win or lose it was an unreal time.

Adrenaline Chicago Tournament: Day 2 Recap

By: Adrenaline

Teams rallied for the final day of the Chicago Tournament with the U15 division kicking off with early morning playoff games. Naturally, teams dug deep for the day that counts. New Wave Force U15, True Indiana, Mad Cats and Tama Lacrosse came out firing, winning their first round playoff games with double digit wins. Mad Cats and U11 Northwest also pulled off a shutout a piece in the playoffs. Despite the basic format of playoffs in which the top seed plays the lowest seed, Day 2 saw tighter matches both in playoffs and in the challenge matches. Only a handful of games ended in eight or more goal differentials, and three semi final games ended in nail bitting OT's. Mad Cats were the only team to come out of the tournament notching double digits in every one of their games.
