Adrenaline is proud to announce its newest club affiliate from Henderson, Nevada, Movin Up Lacrosse.  This newly formed club consists of four teams- Elite, High School A, High School B, and U 15.  While other club programs look to acquire top talent from various areas, Movin Up consists of players all from Henderson Nevada, forming a competitive joint club and high school program. It embraces the “home grown” approach to club ball by bringing the players up together year by year.

The name Movin Up Lacrosse emerged from a slogan used for the High School Henderson Cougars team. The meaning stands for younger players who are working hard to MOVE UP to a higher caliber of play.

Movin Up Lacrosse was founded by New York native, Jason Griggs. Griggs played four years of college lacrosse at West Virginia University and went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Physical Education from Adelphi University in New York.  His early coaching career was deeply rooted in Long Island high school varsity boys and girls’ lacrosse teams before he moved to Henderson, Nevada (2012) where he took a position coaching the Cougars team. Within four seasons coaching the Henderson Cougars, Griggs has won a State Championship, as well as two Assistant Coach of the Year awards. He has since become their head coach, and become head of their lacrosse program.

Behind every strong club program is a dedicated and knowledgeable coaching staff. “Coaching is all about team effort, and having great assistants who are devoted to the game as much as you are is very important,” says Griggs.  Among his elite staff are Michael Vreeland  (Assistant Coach), Brian Griggs (Co-Head Coronado Cougars Blue),  Jeff Jablonski  (Head Coach Coronado Cougars JV) and Sebastian Frago  (Head Coach Miller Middle School).  Coaching programs include teaching individual fundamental skills, the essentials of team play, proper physical conditioning, and most importantly, good sportsmanship.  The coaching staff and volunteers encourage players to develop a positive attitude, self-discipline, respect for others, and commitment to the success of the teams and the club as a whole. “Having such success comes from our middle school feeder programs”, which are Bob Miller Middle School and Del Webb Middle School, both located in Henderson. “I am very lucky to have such an amazing system that feeds into my high school and club teams, it looks like we will be growing each year”

Adrenaline’s mission to effectively and authentically cultivate the game out West, perfectly aligns with Movin Up Lacrosse’s goals to foster a life-long enjoyment and passion for the game.  “Lacrosse is the finest sport in the world.  I am very excited to work with Adrenaline,” says Griggs. “Adrenaline has consistently shown that it is a top leader in nurturing this amazing sport for the younger generation of players”.

Adrenaline recognizes the importance of having strong leadership rooted in unconventional areas, such as Henderson.  “Fostering strong relationships with passionate leaders such as Jason Griggs is the best way we can make an impact,” says Rory Doucette, VP of Adrenaline. “Externally growing the talent at the youth levels across the board allows Adrenaline to help those programs take necessary steps toward the elite level.”

Movin Up Lacrosse will have a stronger focus to lead their players to get their skills ready for next level after high school. They will offer many different clinics, camps, leagues, and travel teams to help the youth lacrosse players grow in Henderson, NV.  “I look forward to coaching the young men and hope they can appreciate being a part of this amazing family and this phenomenal sport”, states Griggs.
