July 13th, 2015
The Adrenaline Showcase and Shootout wrapped up this past weekend in Colorado Springs and the events did not disappoint as a bevy of players and recruiters took the fields. This year the Shootout celebrated its tenth anniversary and in terms of success it certainly ranks with previous years. Apart from a few July showers, the atmosphere was beautiful all weekend and the Rocky Mountain backdrop only added to a great display of competitive high school lacrosse. The boy’s showcase went smoothly as players put it on the line in front of NCAA coaches from all over the country on Thursday. The Shootout followed closely behind as 4 divisions of high school teams went at it from Friday through championship Sunday.
The Showcase included ten teams made of the most elite uncommitted high school players from around the West. Each team played in three different games throughout the day and also took part in NCAA coach-led practices and clinics. Some of the recruiters in attendance included Denver, Loyola, UNC, UMD, and more. The boys were hooked up with custom Adrenaline apparel and some shots from the event can be found on the Adrenaline Facebook page. The Showcase ran as smoothly as ever and offered a great indication of competition to come in the following days at the Shootout.

The Shootout was comprised of four divisions: Adrln Elite, Gatorade Elite, Cannons High School, and Bayhawks High School. The brackets saw some familiar teams playing well; however, they were anything but predictable. The depth of solid competition could be seen all over the fields at El Pomar Youth Sports Park and this was especially evident during the all-star games, which took place on Saturday. The all-stars were split into four teams with an elite division game and a high school division game. Both saw a heavy amount of recruiters flocking to the sidelines and for the full all-star rosters you can check here:
In the elite division, the Adrln and Gatorade brackets were won by DoCo Devils 2017 and LA Heat 2017 respectively. The Adrln semi-finals featured two San Diego region rivals with a closely contested RC Silver vs. Laxdawgs Brown rematch. RC would pull out the win and move on. The other semi-final consisted of two talented Colorado teams in FCA Colorado Elite and DoCo Devils2017. The Devils would proceed to the championship game and eventually upend RC Silver in an exciting one-goal game.
In the Gatorade bracket, the semi-finals consisted of three regional California teams and one Utah squad. Advnc Bay/SAC 2016 defeated Alpha Elite in a NorCal vs. SoCal matchup. On the other side, LA Heat 2017 beat a solid Utah Blackhawks Elite team before winning the championship game later in the day over Advnc in what appeared to be a defensive matchup as the final score read 6-2.
At the high school level the Cannons and Bayhawks brackets were won by Advnc Bay 2017 and Seattle Starz 2018. Advnc Bay 2017 beat a familiar foe in Advnc Sac 2017 to proceed to the Cannons Championship game where they would thwart Denver Elite 2018 Blue for the trophy. In the Bayhawks bracket, Seattle Starz 2018 upset Denver Elite 2018 Silver in the semi-finals despite having lost to that same team in pool play the previous day. Seattle then took the championship in a close game against LA Heat 2018.
Overall, Colorado Springs was an exciting place to be this past weekend. The Showcase and Shootout proved why they are two of Adrenaline’s most eminent recruiting events as the summer tour rolls on. We would like to thank all sponsors, participants, and everyone involved for a fantastic weekend of lacrosse.
