The Lynx of Rhodes College, who play lacrosse out of Memphis, TN in the Southern Athletic Association, completed a 2018 season full of wins, records, and awards. Coached by Dave Zazzaro and Nate Babcock, the Lynx finished the 2018 season with 14 wins, an SAA conference regular season and tournament championship, as well as a trip to the NCAA Sweet 16.

Rhodes College, and Coach Zazzaro, have been long standing members of the Adrenaline Team Family. Coach has been attending Adrenaline events for many years, and Rhodes College is a featured Adrenaline Team. After the historic season, we got a chance to talk to Coach. When asked about the defining moment of the 2018 season, Coach Zazzaro replied, “We had so many memorable events that led us throughout the season…But, probably the thing that stands out the most was the team’s resiliency, tenacity, and team chemistry that kept growing throughout the season. Having a run throughout the NCAA tournament has raised the program’s expectations. There isn’t any plan that we will do for 2019; we’ll just try to do what we do better and more consistently.”

The 2018 season was one for the history books. 10 members of the team earned SAA All-Conference awards. Senior attacker Ryan Fennelly was named Offensive Player of the Year, while fellow teammate Steven Yowan earned Defensive Player of the Year. Fennelly and Yowan were  named to the IMCLA 2nd Team All-South Region, while Fennelly was also invited to the USILA North-South Senior All-Star Game.

Heading into 2019, the Lynx will look to build on top of their new foundation set by the 2018 squad. While the boys hit the wall and practice through their Fall season, our Adrenaline Team is hard at work designing new custom team gear for Rhodes.
