With the 2021-2022 school year in full Fall swing, Adrenaline is proud to announce the return of the Western States Lacrosse Championship. Partnered with Inside Lacrosse, the WSLC will host its inaugural championship June 4-5, 2022, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Utilizing Inside Lacrosse’s western rankings system, the Top 32 boys and Top 32 girls teams from West of the Mississippi will compete over the course of a weekend for the official western title. Taking place at the top-rated Regional Athletic Center (RAC) in SLC, there will no longer be anecdotes about who is the best in the West as this event will prove it once and for all. With interstate competition still on hold for many of the top teams in the West, the Western States Lacrosse Championship will serve as the battleground and throne for a true Western Champion.

Inside Lacrosse will be providing intensive media coverage live from the event as the top Western high school level teams battle for western bragging rights in front of invited NCAA coaches. Baller TV will host live streams of all the games, and the Adrenaline media team will be on-site providing all of the content behind the scenes and on the fields.

Please note: In states or regions where out of season play is not permitted, teams will be attending as club programs.

Teams will be invited based on Inside Lacrosse’s 2021 spring season rankings across 17 different states, including AR, AZ, CA, CO, ID, KS, MN, MS, NE, NM, NV, OK, OR, SD, TX, UT and WA. The 2021 boys and girls rankings can be found below, while the seedings of the actual tournament will be determined by where those teams finish in Spring 2022. The weekend will begin with a two-sided, 16-team bracket that will feed into one championship game for both boys and girls. Full-length championship games will be broadcast live via major media outlets with a full production crew. Each team is guaranteed five games by way of extended bracket play, and each game will count towards their final ranking. This experience will advance the Adrenaline mission of shining the spotlight brightly on western lacrosse, and what better way to put this event on a national stage than bring on board the most anchored lacrosse media company in the game?

“We are very excited to get this event ramped up especially after two challenging Spring lacrosse seasons for Western high school programs,” says Alex Cade, CEO of Adrenaline. “Providing a platform for high school based programs to prove who is the top team in the West is something we have always dreamed of doing. With the help of great partners like IL and our own platforms, we are confident this amount of exposure will help coaches across the West to build back their programs to where they were pre-pandemic.”

“High school lacrosse is the lifeblood of the sport, and providing it the attention that it deserves – particularly in the Western part of the country, which has developed so much over the last two decades – is simply put, a pleasure,” says Terry Foy, CEO of Inside Lacrosse. “IL could not be more excited to be involved.”
