Riding the coattails of Summer Invitational, the top players in the country will take the field in an individual and team setting for the coupled Black Card/ Platinum Cup invite only weekend at DE Turf Sports Complex. Undoubtedly the top events of the summer annually, the sidelines may look a little different, but the exposure of these players will prove just the same. Teams will battle it out for the highly coveted divisions titles, and the showcase and all games will be filmed and shared with every coach around the country.
Black Card brings together the top 1% of players nationally and its one of the few invite only showcases that naturally attracts hundreds of college coaches year after year. Ever heard of the phrase, ‘content is king’? Despite sidelines looking a little different this year, the credibility of this event still stands and the film produced from this event will elevate all of these players’ newly important digital profiles. Not enough? Inside Lacrosse will be the eyes on site scouting the fields for “Players Who Impressed”, another highly credible media source that coaches look to for talent coverage. Ten teams will compete at the 21/22 level while six teams will compete at the 23/24 age group. Blackcard rosters can be found here. Each player will get outfitted with exclusive Black Card apparel and custom phoenix gloves.
This year’s Black Card event will be highlighted by an All Star Game for the 2021/2022 and 2023/2024 divisions. The All Star Games will be played that evening in the DE Turf Sports Complex Stadium. This will be the top 50 players per division as selected by our Adrenaline Evaluation Team (AET) and attending college coaches. Selected players will be given a ADRLN Black Card custom Cascade S helmet.
Many Black Card players will continue their weekend and rejoin their teams for Platinum Cup the following two days. Inside Lacrosse will also keep boots on the ground in search for standout programs and player watch lists. Six teams will walk away champions across the 2021-2026 age groups, with 21 programs from 12 different states competing for bragging rights. Omnia 2021 will be back for a second chance at a title after falling just short of a trophy in the #SummerInvitational20 championship vs. Seattle Starz. Suffice to say they will be warmed up for the weekend, along with their 2022 team and Charm City 21/22.
Among programs to watch is West Coast Starz, which currently has the most 2021 college commitments in a program nationally and their 2022 team is on its way. WCS secured last year’s 2020 & 2021 titles, while returning programs Brotherly Love and Looney’s dominated the 2023 and 2024 divisions, respectively. With talent laden teams hailing from the South (FL, KY, GA, NC), the West (UT, CA), the North (MI, OH) and close to home (MD, D.C., NJ, PA), there are certainly underdog programs that are not to be overlooked. The full Platinum Cup schedule can be found here.
